Stress is a prevalent component in today’s fast-paced world which can negatively impact on an individual’s emotional, mental and physical well being. Stirred up emotions from minor irritations or deep routed thoughts, experiences or physical traumas incurred, rarely aid the healing process.
The Bowen Technique is not a manipulative modality, it is a holistic method of healing that involves gentled ‘rolling’ moves and also includes phases of rest in-between those moves. It is a technique that seems odd to accept and it is the human beings inquisitive nature to wonder why we are being left or what is happening, but it is in these ‘resting’ stages that the body really begins to heal. Bowen works to target and hydrate the soft connective tissue, otherwise known as the fascia. Movements communicate with the bodies signals to encourage the body to let go of tension, stress and emotional baggage, as well as restoring our posture back to the ‘blueprint’ alignment that we have stored innately in our brains.
