Keep Calm It's The Menopause
Gepostet von Marie Reynolds amPLEASE NOTE! what I write from here on in is from my own personal journey and experiences. I am pretty good mentally dealing with things, however this was a pretty big deal so I decided to do as much research as poss plus join said Hysterectomy forum (which I unsubscibed from). I, however had other plans, my first plan of action was to integrate plenty of nutrients, supplements and homeopathic remedies. I had been taking Arnica a few days before the operation so was already underway for the healing process and had my wonderful mother prepare my own recipe of the ‘Menopause Magic nutribullet’, which I will give the recipe to below. I was actually out of my bed, driving and getting on trains to meetings in London two weeks after my operation. I have continued to have the MM NutriBullet as it has made a huge difference to my skin and general well-being.
Oestrogen is predominantly produced in the Ovaries but also Adrenals, Liver, Breasts and a small amount in fat cells. It’s function:
* Influences the development & maintenances of secondary female sex characteristics.
* Regulates menstruation
* Maintains pregnancy
* Clotting potential of blood
* Bone strength
* Blood vessel health
* Metabolic rate bowel motility
* Muscle mass
* Fat storage
* Fluid balance
* Stimulates tissue growth (breasts and tissue organs)
* Boosts the synthesis and function of neurotransmitters that affect sleep, mood, memory, libido & cognitive function
* Decreases pain perception
* Preserves bone mass
* Increases HDL (good cholesterol)
* Preserves elasticity in the skin
* Preserves skins moisture content
* Dilates blood vessels
* Prevents plaque formation in blood vessel walls.
* Found in every cell in the body
Remeber the Menopause is not just for us girls! Men also experience the Andropause, lack in oestrogen levels can also cause issues of the following:
* Headaches
* Depression
* Mood swings
* Brainfog
* Bone loss
* Weight gain
* Sweats
* Decreased motivation
* Lack of focus
* Low energy
* Muscle mass loss
* Mild to moderate erectile dysfunction
Oestrogen will decline and cholesterol increase from the thyroid as well as other factors as we age, especially leading upto (peri) and during the menopause. The decline in Oestrogen has many affects on the body including:
* Headaches
* Depression
* Mood swings
* Brainfog
* Bone loss
* Weight gain
* Hot Flushes
* Nausea
* Irregular or lack of periods
* Heart Palpitations
* Vaginal Dryness
* Joint & Muscle pain
The menopause also causes various changes to the texture and elasticity, oil production drops which contribute to creases and wrinkles . The skin starts to lose 2.1% of collagen every year throughout the menopause resulting unto a 30% decrease bringing a loss of elasticity, tone and suppleness. Hormonal shifts can also result in menopausal related acne which can be distressing.
The menopause will also cause the drying of mucus membranes which means EVERYTHING dries up! Increase in Omega’s and Glucosamine which will protect the skeletal system. There are a wide range of products on the market rich in anti oxidants that target menopausal skin. Here are my very own top tips for a menopausal body and skin!
Every morning I have a Menopausal Magic NutriBullet (I called it this because it is just that – magic!)
Small handful of spinach leaves – Rich in Nitric Oxide good for Endothelial health (walls of blood vessels)
1/2 cup of frozen berries (blueberries/raspberries/redcurrant) rich in Anti Oxidants & Flavanoids
1/2 avocado rich in omega’s
Teaspoon of Chia seeds – rich in omega 3
3-4 walnuts – Hormonal balancer and great for neuro transmitter function
Teaspoon of Yellow Macca – this is great for all hormonal issues
Hemp seeds 1/2 teaspoon – another great hormonal balancer
2 slices of raw beetroot – excellent kidney tonic great for elimination & energy
6-8 red grapes rich in flavanoids
2 capsules of Coll-Force – a natural marine collagen, Biotin, super antioxidants , silica, combined with zinc and copper. Apart from the obvious skin benefits it is also so important for ligaments, tendons and fascia health, which dehydrates and is made up of.. you guessed it Collagen!
Almond milk – fill to line on Nutribullet – Almond milk is rich in calcium
Supplements I take are as follows:
Energetics Homeopathic Remedies/Supplements:
MicroActive CoQ10 – Provides support to all cells of the body. It is especially supportive of the heart and liver, periodontal tissue, and the immune system.
Liquid Vitamin D3
I also take Yve, 3-SET and Repair+ supplements to support the hormonal imbalances.
I have to say that I have been so fortunate to not experience any hot flushes or mood swings (although my family may disagree!) but I recommend Black Cohosh for hot flushes and for mood swings Agnus Castus. (which are found in Yve)
For topical application of skin care products I use my own with some added serums of Cosmedix or Osmosis. I have also imprinted Anoint Epidermal Oil and also the Hydra8 Misting Veil and Elixir for my face with my own Dermal Resonance.
I also wear a microchip after testing me blood from a pinprick sample I was able to boost hormonal frequencies to help support my endocrine system. This is worn for 4 weeks at a time ( at which point I re-test and see where I am at) I also add in extra ‘goodies’ frequencies of amino acids, vitamins and body biochemics that give me that extra spring in my step!
My skin care routine is as follows:
Morning Routine:
- Goji Mallow Cleanse with Mitt - Apply Goji Mallow Cleanse to dry skin, and work well into the skin. Moisten hands and massage for a further 1-2 minutes.
- Elixir – Apply 2-3 drops onto a cleansed skin and work into the neck
- Hydr8 Misting Veil – Spritz over the skin and press in lightly. This can also be used throughout the day to hydrate, the perfect companion on flights to quench a parched skin.
- Reson8 mixed with Skin Quencher – Reson8 can be used aloe, just 1-2 pumps to seal in the previous steps but for that added Quench of hydration mix with Skin Quencher – Use the Copper Wand to stimulate lymph and blood flow, rejuvenating and soothing the skin
- Evy Technology SPF Face mousse
Evening Routine:
- Goji Mallow Cleanse with Mitt – Apply Goji Mallow Cleanse to dry skin, and work well into the skin, use the ring finger in circular movements over lashes and eyes to gently remove any eye make up. Moisten hands and massage for a further 1-2 minutes. Remove product with the MRL Cleansing Mitt – for an added extra you can add a sprinkling of Repair+ into Goji Mallow and apply like a mask for 3-5 minutes before removing with mitt
- FACE – Apply 2-3 drops onto a cleansed skin and work into the neck
- Hydr8 Misting Veil – Spritz over the skin and press in lightly. This can also be used throughout the day to hydrate, the perfect companion on flights to quench a parched skin.
- Skin Quencher mixed with a drop of Anoint You can also add a pinch of Repair + into this hydration for an added amino acid boost.
- Use the Copper Wand to stimulate lymph and blood flow, rejuvenating and soothing the skin
- Skin Quencher – apply a pinhead size of skin Quencher around eye area to hydrate
I use Anoint for moisturising my body, rich in essential Omegas that nourish and hydrate the skin.
Take time for yourself, meditation, relaxing treatments even time out to focus on your breathing, to lower blood pressure and to calm the analytical mind.
So there you have it the above are my own remedies, I find them to be excellent for me. Here is a little video I created from a brilliant email I was sent called Gods Pharmacy I hope it gives you a little insight in how the foods we have help the body.
I would also like to add, even though a total hysterectomy was not at the top of my list to experience at a fairly young age I have to say for me it was the best decision I made. From the age my periods began I had nothing but pain and trouble that was ongoing throughout womanhood with a high risk of Ovarian Cancer, and although I look after myself and am involved with complementary medicine we also have to realise when to listen to our bosies and Doctors. So for me there was no choice but to look straight ahead with a positive frame of mind, you have to, otherwise you will only burden yourself! It can be scary but fear is learned behavior, train yourself in diverting thought processes to other avenues, not dark dead end alleys.
For any of you that are dreading the menopause think about it this way… you have no choice, it is coming for you. It is not the end of your life as a vivacious woman it is another adventure. Take the journey head on and arm yourself with great treatments, products, nutrients & supplements but most of all a strong positive mental attitude to it. It is a journey that you can take loaded with all sorts of emotional, mental and physical baggage if you choose. I choose to travel light and……..
